We buy EPNS and silver plate

We buy electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) and other silver plate across South, West and Mid Wales, including part sets and loose cutlery.

An engraved Victorian silver-plated tea service on a glass shelf

Silver plate is a thin coat of silver over a base metal, and EPNS is the most common kind. It is usually stamped “EPNS”, “EP” or “A1”, often with a maker’s name. Sterling silver carries a hallmark with a lion, a town mark and a date letter. If you’re not sure which you have, send a close-up of the marks and we’ll tell you.

Boxed canteens of cutlery, good trays and complete tea sets are the pieces we look for first. Worn plate is still worth showing us.
